Spring has begun and NBS blooms just like an oak tree with its flowers but also with its strong roots. NBS structure has grown thanks to new key profiles who joined us, we have internalized activities to generate further know-how, will present the project at a unique and specific forum about Meningitis by #SaludsinBulos and our proto at MedtecLive thanks to EIT Health Sponsorship, and we have accomplished regulatory approval for clinical validation, just as big medtech companies do.
THE SPANISH AGENCY OF MEDICINES AND MEDICAL DEVICES APPROVES OUR STUDY TO VALIDATE NEOSONICS
This is so exciting! This approval enables us to start a clinical trial that will show the non-inferiority of infant meningitis diagnosis using Neosonicswhen compared to the current standard, including the lumbar puncture.
But along the way there is so much know-how we will generate and new knowledge we will unravel! No one has ever looked at the fontanel of the infant with the degree of detail and sensitivity we will. How does cell count evolve with time? Will this information serve to adjust treatment and reduce hospitalization stay? How does the flow behaves locally? Are there other biomarkers we will sense with our technology? So many challenges to tackle and an equal number of opportunities to grab.
Big recognition to our collaborating hospitals Hospital Universitario La Paz (Madrid), Hospital Universitario Quirón Madrid (Pozuelo de Alarcón) and ISGlobal Barcelona at Centro de Investigaçao em Saúde de Manhiça (Mozambique).
WE GROW STRONG
We are extremely proud of our new members Carlos Surribas, MSc. Biomedical Engineering, who joined NBS as Director of Technical Operations and Álvaro Navarro, MSc. Biomedical Engineering and future MSc. in Artificial Intelligence, our Data Scientist. They have shown a tremendous coupling capacity, professionalism and rigor, sense of responsibility, leadership in their areas and unquestioned commitment. They’re terrific!
To put it simply, our prototypes perform as they should because Carlos coordinates collaborators, providers and determines specifications. Álvaro will enable, through his work on algorithms and data analysis, the automatic measurement of the devices as well as the exploiting of data to develop functionalities that grow the value of our solution for users. We hope both that that they catapult NBS to success and that their experience and merits in NBS catapult their careers, too!
EIT HEALTH BRINGS US TO MEDTECLIVE AND #SALUDSINBULOS (MENINGITIS EDITION) INVITES US TO PRESENT NBS
With a prototype ready for clinical validation the MedtecLive, the second largest medical device conference in EU after Medica, is one of the best possible scenarios to showcase our innovation, present NBS and meet relevant clinical, and industrial leaders. It takes place in Nürnberg on May 21-23, you will find us with the other EIT Health sponsored startups in the large space Hall 9/9-651. Here you can find event-related information: https://www.medteclive.com/en/ausstellerprodukte/mtl19/exhibitor-44722649/neos-new-born-solutions-sl
Before MedtecLive, we will be presenting NBS in the event specific about meningitis promoted by #SaludsinBulos, hosted at Paediatric University Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid and coordinated by COM SALUD. Meningitis sin Bulos is their second initiative, after Cancer Sin Bulos, and has attracted Spanish KOLs and relevant entities in the area of Paediatrics, Infections, Vaccines, Social Awareness and Media.
We are honored to present NBS and close the event right after our ambassador Dr. Jordi Serrano presents Universal Doctor. Both companies have been invited as two technology-based solutions for early detection of serious infections, such as Meningitis.
